G.C. Boxing Club to host show Saturday

The Garden City Boxing Club will be hosting a Saturday night at the fights show.

The show, which will be held at Buffalo Jones Elementary School's gym, 708 N. Taylor, will begin at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:30.

Teams are coming from Lubbock, Texas; Amarillo, Texas; Dodge City, Ulysses, Wichita and Kansas City. Locally, there will be boxers from the Garden City Boxing Club and Bad Boyz Boxing Club.

Approximately 15 to 25 bouts will be scheduled.

Admission is $10 for adults, kids 6 and older is $5, and 5 and under are admitted free.

There will be door prize drawings and included in the prizes are autographed items by Garden City native Brandon Rios. Rios is scheduled for a March 30 WBO Super Lightweight title match against Mike Alvarado in Las Vegas, which also will be shown on HBO.
