Books on the Bus, better known as B.O.B., has started its eighth summer of visiting various sites in Garden City, Mondays through Thursdays. The bookmobile's last scheduled visit will be on July 30.

The sites that the Bookmobile will visit include:

  • Lee Richardson Zoo, 312 E. Finnup Drive, from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Mondays.
  • East Garden Village, 4101 E. U.S. Hwy. 50, from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m., and Towns Riverview South, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
  • Ayala Park, 216 N. Taylor Ave., from 9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

  • Farmland Road from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. and H&H Trailer Park, 4170 E. U.S. Hwy 50, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

The Kids Meals on Wheels Bus will accompany B.O.B. during the summer. Sack lunches will be provided for those 18 and younger as part of the Summer Food Service Program. The Kansas State Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are the sponsors of this program. All meals must be eaten on site. Adults wishing to eat with their child can purchase a lunch for $3.00. Breakfast and lunch will also be served June 1 through 25 at Victor Ornelas Elementary School, 3401 East Spruce St., as part of the program. Breakfast will be 7:45 to 9:15 a.m. and lunch will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
