* Hoof it to Health Road Run:

What: Sponsored by the Garden City Family YMCA, this event provides both a 5K and 10K race, a two-mile walk and a one-half mile kids' race. The starting line is at the YMCA facility located on Center Street. Participants receive a complimentary T-shirt. Entry forms and additional information can be obtained by contacting Sarah Tighe at 275-1199 or the Beef Empire Days office at 275-6807.

When: 7 a.m.

Where: The Garden City Family YMCA

* Horseshoe Tournament

What: Qualifying begins at 9 a.m. at the horseshoe pits south of the swimming pool in Finnup Park. The tournament starts at 10 a.m. Men and women of all ages are welcome. There is a $10 entry fee. All money is returned in prizes.

When: 9 a.m.

* Beef Empire Days Youth Benefit Softball Tournament

What: Garden City's Peebles and Wiley softball complexes will host a USSSA-sanctioned men's and women's softball tournament. Berths will be awarded, and each team is guaranteed three games. Action begins at noon and continues through Sunday morning. Entry available by contacting the Garden City Recreation Commission at 276-1200.

Sunday, June 1

* Feedlot and Sponsors Team Roping, Barrel Racing and Riding events

What: Cowboys and cowgirls compete in events open to any 2014 Beef Empire Days sponsor.

When: 10 a.m.

Where: Finney County Fairgrounds

* Beef Empire Days Youth Benefit Softball Tournament

* Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo

What: Slack competition begins at 8:30 a.m. and main rodeo with bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding begins at 7 p.m. on all three nights. Thursday night is Family Night, with family admitted for $10, including children 9 and younger

Friday, June 6

* Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo

What: The PRCA Rodeo continues, with Friday being "Are You Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night," where Breast Cancer Awareness is the focus.

When: Main rodeo begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday, June 7

* Street Heat 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

What: Day 1 of the 3 on 3 basketball tournament

When: 9 a.m.

Where: Finnup Park basketball courts

* Garden City Jackalopes 7s Rugby Tournament

What: 7s rugby tournament

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: The Esquivel Soccer Complex

* Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo

What: The PRCA Rodeo continues, with Saturday night honoring all military veterans with free admission by bringing a military I.D. card.

When: Main rodeo begins at 7 p.m.

Where: Finney County Fairgrounds Arena

Sunday, June 8

* Buffalo Dunes/Beef Empire Days 4-Person Scramble

What: Golf competition with a 4-person scramble tournament. Reservations can be made by contacting the golf shop at 276-1210.

When: Tee times begin at 8 a.m.

What: Day 2 of the 3 on 3 basketball tournament
