* Tyson Battle of the Beef BBQ Challenge

What: The competition is open to the public, and the entry fee is $150 per team. Participants will be judged based on the three selections of meat provided: ribs, brisket and tri-tip. New this year is a dessert jackpot, which is a dessert of their choice and must be cooked on-site to win part of the jackpot. A minimum of $2,000 in prize money will be awarded to the winners.

* Beef Empire Days Sponsors Day Reception

What: Beef Empire Days sponsors and their guests are invited to the annual event that provides an excellent opportunity to network with customers and clients. There will be drawings, giveaways and refreshments.

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: Clarion Inn

Tuesday, June 3

* Cattlemen's Steak Cookout

What: The Southwest Kansas CattleWomen serve up a free steak dinner.

When: 11:30 a.m.

Where: Grandstand Plaza at Finney County Fairgrounds

Saturday, June 7

* Commerce Bank Chuckwagon Breakfast

What: It's all-you-can-eat chuckwagon grub, serving pancakes and beef sausage, for only $2.

When: 6:30 a.m.

Where: Stevens Park

* Chuckwagon in the Park Community Feed

What: Sample the flair of the West in Stevens Park by tasting the new cuts of beef, served right from old-fashioned chuckwagons.

When: 11:30 a.m.

Where: Stevens Park

Sunday, June 8

* Beef Empire Days Cattle Crawl Dinner

What: Board the bus and guests will be ferried from location to location aboard their own "stagecoach."

When: 4:30 p.m.

Where: Clarion Inn Parking Lot
