Meade comes back to beat Ashland; Cimarron cruises

Ashland 49

At Meade, the Lady Buffaloes outscored Ashland 30-8 in the fourth quarter to erase a 14-point deficit after the third period and post a late 57-49 win on Friday.

Kinzie Friesen led Meade with 21 points. Bailey Olvera and Tarah Wiens also scored 13 and 11 points respectively. Meade also trailed by margins of 15-9 after one quarter and 30-18 at the half.

Canaan Endicott led Ashland with 16 points followed by Elizabeth McKinney with 15 and Nichole Borgelt with 10 in the Lady Bluejays tough loss.

Lakin 26

At Lakin, the visiting Cimarron Lady Bluejays outscored Lakin in each period to soar towards a 62-26 win over the Lady Broncs on Friday to stay undefeated.

Morgan Ediger led all players in the game for Cimarron, the top team in Class 3A, with 16 points. Eva Koopman followed up with 15 points and Ashtynn Burns with 13.

Kara Simmons led Lakin with seven points.

Mollie Calderon led Deerfield with 11 points.

Kendra Haines led Moscow with 17 points in a balanced scoring effort with Kelsi Mueller and Kaitlyn Dobie each adding 12 points, followed by Maria Cecenas with 11.

Jade Cathcart led Hooker with 21 points in the Lady Bulldogs' losing effort.

Tailar Bremer had a stellar night for Wichita County with 24 points with Katie Bailey adding 16 points.

Brooke Briggs led Sublette with 16 points. Riley Matteson and Alexis Ornelas also added 10 points apiece as the Lady Larks went on a 21-11 third quarter run but was not able to overcome Wichita County at the end.

BayLee Hoskinson led Hugoton with 13 points followed by Riley Sosa with 11 points. Hugoton jumped out to a 20-9 advantage at halftime.

Kenzie Curry led Colby with 10 points as both teams struggled inside the paint on the night.
