Mike Specketer, 63, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at his home in Garden City.
He was born Nov. 15, 1949, in Schaller, Iowa, to Virgil and Margaret Spindler Specketer.
On March 19, 1981, he married Shirley Holmes in Fort Morgan, Colo.
Mr. Specketer worked as a mechanic at gas stations in Loveland, Colo. In 1970, he moved to Fort Morgan and went to work as a mechanic and groundsman for Morgan County Rural Electric Association for 24 years. In 2005, he moved to Garden City.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Sharri Salyers of Bethel, Alaska, Cinnamon Plaster of Brandon, Minn., and Therri Wadel of Garden City; two brothers, Bob and Steve Specketer, both of Loveland; a sister, Mary Fleming of Denver; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Rogers.
A celebration of Mike's life will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Morgan County Rural Electric Association Building, with a reception to follow, at 20169 U.S. Highway 34, Fort Morgan.
