Rozella Marie Regan, 93, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Frankfort Community Care Home, where she had been a resident for the past eight years.
She was born July 26, 1920, in Effingham, to James P. and Theresa M. Mechsner Regan. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1938.
Miss Regan worked in business positions at Frankfort, Maysville, Garden City, Topeka and in Lincoln, Neb. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Altar Society, 50-year past member of Topeka Daughters of Isabella, past member of Frankfort Friendship Card Club and a former member of the Frankfort AARP Chapter.
Survivors include a sister, Sister Genitha Regan, SCL of Leavenworth; six nephews, Gerald Kennedy and his wife Angela of Andover, Thomas Regan and his wife Julmary of Denver, Michael Regan and his wife Chris, Timothy Regan, and Shawn Regan and his wife Jenise, all of Garden City, and James B. Regan and his wife Nadia Zhiri of Lawrence; five nieces, Noreen Kennedy Heiss of Littleton, Colo., Kathleen Regan Scheuchzer and her husband Larry, Mary Regan, and Ann Regan Pottorf and her husband Kent, all of Garden City, and Colleen Regan Steck and her husband Ron of Naperville, Ill.; and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Aloysius Regan and his wife Pearl Johnson, and Leo Regan; two sisters, Cecilia Kennedy and her husband James W., and Geraldine Regan; two nephews, Patrick Regan and Kevin Regan; and a nephew-in-law, Robert Heiss.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the rosary service at 10 a.m. Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Father Pat Sullivan officiating. The honorary pallbearers will be Alan Jones, Charles Kelliher, Charles Wendling, Earl Lauer, Jerry Stowell and Dr. Tim Minges. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Frankfort.
Memorials are suggested to the Rozella M. Regan Memorial or the donor's choice, both in care of Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.
