SCOTT CITY — Nadine "Deenie" Gies, 85, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at her home in Iola.
She was born Sept. 9, 1928, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Joseph F. and Mabel McGuire Perry Copp.
A longtime resident of Scott City before moving to Iola, Mrs. Gies was a homemaker.
On May 29, 1947, she married William E. Gies in Topeka. He died Oct. 29, 1991, in Scott City. She also was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and an infant great-grandson.
Survivors include a son, Bill Gies of Assaria; five daughters, Mary Balmer of Inverness, Fla., Susie Greve of Iola, Kathy Hoeme and Beth Hess, both of Scott City, and Chris Wagner of Yukon, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Scott City. Burial will be at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City.
