LEOTI — Alice R. Summers, 102, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Wichita County Long Term Care Center in Leoti.
She was born March 28, 1911, in Wichita County, to Roy Ellsworth and Helen Graham Elder.
A resident of Leoti since 1972, moving from Kearny County, Mrs. Summers was a farmer, rancher and homemaker.
On March 27, 1929, she married Henry David Summers in Wichita County. He died Dec. 13, 1999, in Leoti. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dorothy Harbin; six brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Roy Summers of Advance, N.C., Donald Summers of Lakin, Merle Summers of Blackwell, Okla., and Howard "Dude" Summers of Cimarron; four daughters, Helen Ridder of Leoti, Delora Stites of Midlothian, Va., Bessie Brown of Salt Lake City, and Barbara Heili of Garden City; a sister, Neva Duncan of Leoti; 35 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Leoti. Burial will be at Leoti Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 2 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti. Condolences may be given at www.priceandsons.com or email@example.com.
