Jose Balderrama

Jose Ramon Balderrama, 43, of Beaver, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

He was born Oct. 6, 1966, in Mexico, to Ruben and Rosario Lozoya-Fierro Balderrama.

Mr. Balderrama was operations manager for National Beef Packing Co., Liberal, and had worked at Tyson Fresh Meats for more than 17 years in Garden City and Amarillo, Texas.

On Oct. 27, 2006, he married Jaqueline de Santiago. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Ruben Balderrama of Garden City; four daughters, Jennifer, Aylin, Stephanie and Isabella Balderrama, all of the home; his parents, of Chihuahua, Mexico; a grandson; three brothers, Ruben Balderrama of Garden City, Antonio Balderrama of Lamar, Colo., and Victor Balderrama of Beaver; and three sisters, Rosalia Balderrama-Lozoya, Martha Balderrama-Lozoya and Maria Magdalena Balderrama-Lozoya, all of Mexico.

Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to garnandfh@sbcglobal.net. Memorials to the Jose Ramon Balderrama Education Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
