8-man: Rolla edges Deerfield; Satana routs Moscow; Dighton wins big

Rolla 24, Deerfield 12
At Rolla, the Pirates scored six points in each of the four quarters and held off Deerfield late for a 24-12 victory in a Santa Fe Trail League contest on Friday.
Jaron Rusch scored Rolla first touchdown on an endzone recovery in the first quarter before Kyler Telford scored rushing touchdowns in both the second and third quarters. Rusch also passed to Telford for Rolla's fourth quarter touchdown as the first two and a half quarters of the game were played in a steady rain.
Deerfield got on the board in the fourth quarter on a Rene Rubio 56-yard run by before Mike Mata passed for a 24-yard touchdown pass to Alex Mata later in the quarter. The game was played on Rolla's auxillary field due to flooding issues on their main field.
Rolla travels to Goodwell, Okla. on Thursday while Deerfield goes to Moscow for their other Santa Fe Trail League game this year.

Kiowa County 48, South Gray 0
At Greensburg, the visiting South Gray Rebels were no match for the Kiowa County Mavericks as South Gray only managed seven yards of total offense in their 48-0 loss on the road on Friday.
Trever Powell led Kiowa County as he ran for two touchdowns on the night. Powell also passed for one touchdown to Erik Torres and ran a punt back for a touchdown, both coming in the second quarter. John Terhune also ran for two touchdowns in the game for the Mavericks.
Henry Friesen led South Gray with 15 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards as the game was called early in the third quarter due to the 45-point mercy rule.

Satanta 42, Moscow 0
At Satanta, the Indians scored 28 of their 42 points in the first half on their way to overpowering Moscow for a 42-0 shutout win on Friday.
Satanta rushed for 213 total yards against Moscow, led by Adrian Longoria as he had nine carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns, including a 52-yard run in the second quarter. James Turpin also had numbers on the ground as he rushed 12 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Satanta quarterback Kyle Abernathy completed three of five passes for 99 yards, one touchdown and one interception, including a 42-yard passes to Jesus Garcia in the fourth quarter. Abernathy also rushed nine times for 51 yards and a touchdown for Satanta's balanced scoring effort.

At Greeley County, the Dighton Hornets football team shut out its opponent, the Greeley County Jackrabbits, to the tune of 38-0. The first points on the board came with a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter by Dighton's Mulville. Dighton continued to score handidly as they raced to a 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Meanwhile, Dighton's Cruz would handle the scoring for the rest of the night for the Hornets, as he scored four touchdowns on runs of 26, 32, 31, and 1-yard throughout the game. Dighton wound up going into halftime with a big lead of 38-0 over the Jackrabbits, but they seemed to let off the gas as the halftime score would end up being the final.

At Spearville, the Spearville Royal Lancers ran away with the game early — they held a commanding halftime lead of 38-0 against the Ingalls Bulldogs — but would wind up winning 50-20. The Royal Lancers got on the board early after a Bulldog miscue, when a fumble by a Bulldog player was picked up by the Lancers' Reegan Kliessen who returned the ball 25 yards for a score, which was punctuated by a Nathan Stein run for the two-point conversion. The Lancers would keep leaning on the ground game as their next three scores of the half were touchdown runs of 7, 4, and 55 yards respectively. It wouldn't be until late in the third quarter when the Bulldogs would get on the board with a Zeke Cox 13-yard pass to Lux Edmondson.
