Two Garden City men were arrested Wednesday on drug-related allegations, and one man was arrested on allegations of aggravated assault and domestic battery, after the Garden City/Finney County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a residence in Garden City.

Sean Strickland, 19, 1207 Pats Drive, was arrested on allegations of aggravated assault and domestic battery. Jon Strickland, 51, 2506 A St., was arrested on allegations of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Hoeffner, 22, 2506 A St., was arrested on allegations of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Garden City police, after an investigation into the alleged sale of methamphetamine and marijuana from the residence, the drug task force searched the residence at 2506 A St. on Wednesday.

The GCPD S.W.A.T. team was en route to serve the warrant when officers were notified that two men were involved in a physical altercation in front of the residence, one of whom was threatening the other with a hatchet. The altercation concluded before officers arrived and one of the men, Jon Strickland, left in a car. He was stopped a short time later. When the S.W.A.T. team arrived at the residence, the other party involved in the altercation, Sean Strickland, who was no longer in possession of the hatchet, was immediately taken into custody in the front yard.

A third man, Hoeffner, fled into the residence when officers arrived and was also taken into custody.

During a search of the residence and vehicle that Jon Strickland was driving, officers found a small amount of methamphetamine and several items of paraphernalia consistent with the use and distribution of illegal drugs.

All three men were lodged in the Finney County Jail.
