Donald Eugene "Don" Farr, 76, of Tulsa, Okla., died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
He was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Gove County, to William Oliver and Mildred Russell Farr. He graduated from high school in Scott City in 1954.
On Dec. 31, 1958, he married Roberta L. Beedy in Tribune.
A former resident of Garden City, Mr. Farr moved to Tulsa in 1990 and became the director of the Read Now Program.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Michele Rollins of Waynesville, Mo.; two sons, Kevin Farr of Skiatook, Okla., .and Kelvin Farr of Louisville, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Bennett and May Carpenter, both of Garden City; and a brother, Leon Farr of Scott City. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Brenda; and two brothers, Delbert and Norman.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Woodlake Church in Tulsa. Burial will begin at 1 p.m. at National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Okla.
