A Garden City man and convicted sex offender was arrested this weekend on an allegation of indecent liberties with a child.

Robert Walter Keough, 47, 704 Ida St., was arrested by the Garden City Police Department at 9:37 p.m. Sunday and lodged in the Finney County Jail.

Capt. Michael Reagle said Keough was arrested on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child in regard to allegations that he inappropriately touched a female child who was under the age of 16.

Reagle said the investigation is ongoing.

Keough was previously convicted for felony lewd and lascivious behavior on July 21, 2004, in Gainesville, Fla., and again on Oct. 7, 2004 in Lake City, Fla.

Keough is registered as a lifetime sex offender and has been registered since July 13, 2007, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's website, www.kbi.ks.gov/registeredoffender/SearchOffender.aspx.
