Doyle Cripe, 91, WWII veteran and retired security/fire inspector for Boeing, and postal manager at Cessna, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013.
Doyle was born Feb. 25, 1922, in Mankato, Kan., the son of Earl and Grace Cripe.
On Aug. 4, 1946, he married Cynthia Olomon in Garden City.
Doyle was raised in Garden City where he worked his early years in law enforcement. He was an active member of Hillside Christian Church.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith; and a sister, Marjorie.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Cindy, of the home; his beloved children, Janis (Tommie) Nelson of Wichita, Alan (Sandy) Cripe of St. Louis, Mo., and Judy (Harry) Funke of Towanda; grandchildren, Stacy (Harold) Walker, and Harrison, Bryson and Michael Funke; one great-grandson, Gabriel Walker; and a sister, Joanne Michel of Manhattan, Kan.
Visitation hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Funeral Home, with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow immediately at Lakeview Cemetery with military honors.
