Rex Alan Bayer, 54, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at his home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Rex Alan Bayer, 54, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at his home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

He was born April 2, 1960, in Garden City, to Joe and Margaret Gatlin Bayer.

Survivors include a son, Nick Bayer and wife Sumer Rose; a daughter, Starr Bayer of Garden City; five sisters, Patty Quint of Mesa, Ariz., Mary Burrell of Siloam Springs, Karen Lubbers of Garden City, Sharon Moran of Newport News, Va., and Toni Martin of Garden City; four brothers, Donald Bayer of Ponca City, Okla., Adam Bayer of Texas, Marty Bayer of Gentry, Ark., and Lester Bayer of St. Paul; a granddaughter, Clara Bayer; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Catherine Base and Jo Ellen Spears; and a brother, Karl Bayer.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

There will be no visitation. Condolences may be given at Memorials to the Rex Bayer Memorial Fund may be sent in care of the funeral home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
