Joyce Lewis


LEOTI — Joyce Eileen Lewis, 65, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti.

She was born Oct. 18, 1948, to Russell & Zita Page Darling in Hutchinson.

On June 8, 1974, she was married to Lonnie Lewis in Leoti.

Mrs. Lewis was a 1971 graduate of Sterling College, where she earned a degree in education. She was a resident of Leoti since 1971. She retired from teaching in 2009.

Survivors include her husband; three children, Troy Lewis of Scott City, Russell Lewis of Leoti, Heather Holstein of Scott City; four siblings, Bill Darling of Alden, Dixie Profitt of Sterling, Ronnie Darling of Stanford, Texas, Curt Darling of Alden; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Leoti. Interment will be at the Leoti Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti.

Memorials may be given to the Leoti EMT's or The Wichita County Amusement Association in care of the funeral home.
