Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Swords Maddux, 76, of Anthony, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Lakepoint Long Term Care in Wichita.

Margaret Ellen "Peggy" Swords Maddux, 76, of Anthony, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Lakepoint Long Term Care in Wichita.

She was born June 21, 1938, in Syracuse, to Ralph Joseph and Linna Faye Henebergh Swords. She graduated from Deerfield High School in Deerfield in 1956. She had worked at numerous places, most recently working with disabled citizens through Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas in the Russell area. She moved to Anthony after her retirement.

Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Jones of Deerfield, and Kaye Menhusen of Anthony; and two brothers, Ralph Swords Jr. of Garden City, and Garry Swords of Meriden. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Leatrice Shaw, Alameda Barnett, Rosemary Shipley and Martha Faye Purser; and a brother, Bill.

Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center is in charge of arrangements for inurnment at a later date.
