The starting time for the Class 6A regional track and field meet on Friday at Maize, where Garden City High School will compete, has been moved up due to the potential of inclement weather in the area.

Field events will now begin at noon at Maize High School with track preliminaries set to begin at 1 p.m. Track finals will start 45 minutes after the conclusion of the preliminaries.

The top four finishers in each event qualify for the state track meet which will be held on May 30-31 at Cessna Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University.

Garden City's girls and boys teams each placed fourth in the 2013 state meet.

For results and summary of the Buffaloes' teams, read Saturday's Telegram or go online at www.gctelegram.com on Saturday morning.
