Lupe Moreno Franco, 68, of Garden City, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Nueva Rosita, Coahlia, Mexico, to Miguel Perez and Dominga Moreno Franco.

A resident of Garden City since 1957, Mr. Franco had worked for the City of Garden City as an electrician and later as a plumber for Johnson Septic. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Lakin.

On April 27, 1964, he married Elda Ruth McInnis in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Tom Franco and his wife Ronda of Garden City, and Lupe Franco Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Jacqueline Gutierrez and her husband Jesus of Scott City, and Rebecca Franklin and her husband Raymond of Park City; two brothers, Ignacio Franco and Martin Franco, both of Garden City; a sister, Olivia Sandoval of Garden City; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Armando and Rafael Franco; and three sisters, Maria Inez Corpus, Juanita Valdez and Elisa Lozoya.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly Of God Church in Garden City. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
