Phuoc Hong Nguyen, 86, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Sarasota, Fla.

He was born Jan. 1, 1928, in An Giang, Vietnam, to Mau Van Ngo and Long Thi Tran.

A former Garden City resident, he was a farmer.

On Sept. 19, 1951, he married Da Thi "Teresa" Nguyen in Vietnam. She died Feb. 1, 2013, in Garden City.

Survivors include four sons, Father Francis Khoi Nguyen of Hugoton, Len Van Nguyen and Tieng Thanh Nguyen, both of Garden City, and Phuc Hong Nguyen of Sarasota; three daughters, Hien Thi Nguyen of Sarasota, Thuc Thi Nguyen of Vietnam, and Mai Chi Thi of Wichita; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Vigil and rosary services will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Memorials are suggested to the Diocesan Seminarian Fund, in care of the funeral home, 620 N. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
