Tandy's Hallmark in Dodge City will be closing May 31 and moving to Garden City, but a new store won't open here until 2014.

Meanwhile, the store, which has been in business for 40 years at 2601 Central Ave., Suite 34, Dodge City, will be setting up a Facebook page to keep customers apprised of developments.

Orders for holiday keepsakes and collectibles like for Precious Moments, Cherished Teddys and Boyd's Bears are being coordinated through Manager Deb Bratton. The store begins taking ornament orders in April, although holiday sales don't start until July, she said.

Bratton, who has been with Tandy's for nearly 15 years, will be moving to the store at 2900 Vine St. in Hays, where the Hallmark Gold Crown store has been located for 10 years. The stores are owned by Tandy and Paul Kornechuk.

Pick-up points will be arranged in Garden City and Dodge City.

The exact location of the new Tandy's Hallmark cannot be disclosed right now because it's still in the planning and development stage and has to be approved by Hallmark, Bratton said.

Tandy's may still be contacted at (620) 225-1556.
