LAKIN — Jesus Aparicio Sr., 76, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Garden City.

He was born June 14, 1937, in Juan Aldama, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Federico and Maria Mendieta Aparicio.

Mr. Aparicio had lived in Lakin since 1993.

In 1964, he married Maria del Socorro Chavez in Juan Aldama. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Federico, Gerardo, Jose Antonio, Jesus, Alonso, Blanca, Armando and Cristian Aparicio, all of Lakin, and Veronica, Claudia, Norma, Maria and Roberto Aparicio, all of Oxnard, Calif.; 35 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Guadalupe and Isabel Aparicio.

Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lakin. Funeral will take place at a later date in Juan Aldama.
