PIERCEVILLE — Darrel M. Woods, 70, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

PIERCEVILLE — Darrel M. Woods, 70, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

He was born April 14, 1944, in Dodge City, to George Andrew and Thelma Lucille Coleman Woods.

In December 1975, he married Bonnie Davis in Pierceville. They later divorced.

A longtime Pierceville resident, Mr. Woods was self-employed, owning Woods Construction Company.

Survivors include four sons, Ricky Hands Jr. and Greg Hands, both of Garden City, Tracy Lee Hands of Burdett, and Sam Woods of Wichita; a daughter, Misty Dawn Vogts of Sublette; three brothers, Manley Woods of Jetmore, Carter Woods of El Dorado, and Dennis Woods of Scott City; two sisters, Rosetta Hays of Leoti, and Jackie Aldrich of Olathe; 17 grandchildren; his uncle, James Coleman of Oklahoma City; and his aunts, Lorene Isaacs and Mae Taylor.

A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pierceville Federated Church. Burial will be at Pierceville Cemetery.
