SCOTT CITY — Lula M. "Lou" Dirks, 75, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

SCOTT CITY — Lula M. "Lou" Dirks, 75, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

She was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Emporia, to Wilfred Alton and Lucille Thelma Arnall Coe.

A resident of Scott City since 1960, Mrs. Dirks was a homemaker and a bus driver.

On March 5, 1957, she married Howard D. Dirks in Scott City. He died June 21, 2007, in Scott City. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ralph Warren.

Survivors include a son, Darrel Dirks of Marienthal; two daughters, Deborah Kraemer of Fowler, and Darla Luebbers of Leoti; two sisters, Wilfreda "Skeet" Flowers of Parker, Colo., and Glenna Cooley of Andersonville, Tenn.; a half brother, Gerald A. Coe of Silt, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Scott Mennonite Church in Pence. Burial will be at Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence.

Visitation hours are 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Memorials are suggested to Leoti Emergency Medical Technicians or Scott Mennonite Church, both in care of the funeral home.
