HUGOTON — Laura Virginia Gillespie, 87, of Hugoton, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.

HUGOTON — Laura Virginia Gillespie, 87, of Hugoton, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.

She was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Stevens County, to Harry A. and Laura A. Strickland Wilson.

On Aug. 28, 1948, she married Glenn Gillespie in Stevens County. He died March 20, 2003. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Goudy; a brother, Tommy Wilson; and two grandsons.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Gillespie of Jefferson, Texas, and Roger and Neal Gillespie, both of Hugoton; a daughter, Kay Gillespie of Garden City; a brother, Don E. Wilson of Hugoton; a sister, Doris Fuller of Hugoton; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Hugoton. Burial will be at Hugoton Cemetery.

Visitation hours are until 8 tonight at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton. Memorials are suggested to Pheasant Heaven Charities and First Christian Church, both in care of the funeral home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
