Shannon Christopher Botz, a former Garden City resident, died Friday, April 18, 2014.

He was born Nov. 4, 1975, in St. Paul, Minn., to Brad and Jane Botz. In 1991, he moved from Garden City to Salina, where he graduated from Salina South High School.

Mr. Botz was the lead computer services technician at Kansas Wesleyan University.

Survivors include his parents, of Salina; two brothers, Daniel of Salina, and Chad of Rochester, Minn.; and his grandmother, Ethel Aamot of Minot, N.D. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel Yantes, and Allyn and Jean Botz.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Salina.

Memorials are suggested to Kansas Wesleyan University to establish a scholarship fund in Shannon's name.
