Wanda Blanche Bertholf, 86, of Arvada, Colo., and formerly of Garden City, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, Colo.

Wanda Blanche Bertholf, 86, of Arvada, Colo., and formerly of Garden City, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, Colo.

She was born May 21, 1927, in Pierceville, to Henry "Hank" Stukey and Hermie Blanche Mann Stukey. She graduated from Garden City Senior High School in 1946.

On Aug. 4, 1946, she married Wayne Bertholf in Garden City. He died Sept. 1, 2003. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Keith Bertholf; and a sister, Norma Jean Worf.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bertholf worked for USD 457 as the school secretary for more than 20 years, retiring in 1995.

Survivors include three sons, Philip of Dodge City, Larry of Omaha, Neb., and Neil of Arvada; a sister, Mamie Ruth Stukey Crabb of Lawrence; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be emailed to garnandfh@sbcglobal.net.
