SATANTA — Antonio Garcia Herrada, 88, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, Texas.

SATANTA — Antonio Garcia Herrada, 88, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, Texas.

He was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Mexico, to Antonio and Carlota Garcia Herrada.

Mr. Herrada worked as a farm laborer in the Sublette and Satanta communities before moving to Del Rio after his retirement.

He married Felicitas Perez. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters, Teresita and Margarita Herrada; and four brothers, Luis, Simon, Adan and Pedro Herrada.

He married Yolanda Zamaron. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Maria Carrillo of Sublette, and Juanita Herrada of Lubbock, Texas; nine sons, Carlos Herrada of San Antonio, Texas, Antonio Herrada Jr., Pedro Herrada and Jose Herrada, all of Garden City, Rogelio Herrada of Ulysses, Arthur Herrada and Pancho Herrada, both of Sublette, Pablo Herrada of Satanta, and Osbaldo Antonio Herrada of Del Rio; a stepson, Efrain Gonzalez of Del Rio; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta. Inurnment will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.
