Wanda Jean Burns, 68, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home in Garden City.

Wanda Jean Burns, 68, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home in Garden City.

She was born July 17, 1945, in Garden City, to Everett Lyle and Doris Deloris Wright Oshel. She grew up in Garden City and returned here in 2000.

On Oct. 11, 1963, she married Jimmy L. Burns Sr. in Garden City. Survivors include three sons, Jimmy L. Burns Jr. of Garden City, Troy and wife Diane Burns of Lubbock, Texas, and Trevor and wife Amanda Burns of Norton; a brother, Roger Oshel of Deerfield; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Merlene Oshel.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

There will be no visitation. Condolences may be given at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com. Memorials are suggested to the Finney County Humane Society, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
