CIMARRON — George Brooks, 73, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron.

CIMARRON — George Brooks, 73, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron.

He was born June 28, 1940, in San Diego, to Edwin Frank and Mildred Brooks. He graduated from Pacific Beach High School in San Diego.

Mr. Brooks worked as a contractor in the construction industry in the San Diego area. In June 2013, he moved to his daughter's home in Cimarron.

Survivors include two daughters, Celeste Lacy of Cimarron, and Renee Sherrill of Carlsbad, Calif.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Brooks.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in California.

There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the guest book at Memorials to the donor's choice may be sent in care of Swaim Funeral Home, 1901 Sixth Ave., Dodge City, KS 67801.
