A Garden City man was arrested Sunday on allegations of domestic battery, endangering a child and abuse of a child.

Remo Kempis, 35, 65 S. Farmland Road No. 14, was arrested by Finney County Sheriff Deputies Sunday and lodged in the Finney County Jail.

According to Sheriff Kevin Bascue, deputies were dispatched to 65 S. Farmland Road, No. 14, in response to a call stating that a male subject was choking a female subject. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that Kempis had allegedly choked a 26-year-old female during a domestic dispute. The victim, whose identity is not being released, alleged that she and Kempis were arguing over one of their children. A 14-year-old female, who was holding a 6-month-old infant, then attempted to stop Kempis from choking the woman. It is alleged that Kempis then grabbed the 14-year-old female victim by the neck and shoved her against a wall and punched her in the neck, while she was holding the infant.

Kempis was arrested for domestic battery, endangering a child and abuse of a child.

He is currently in the Finney County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
