INGALLS — James R. "Jim" Dwyre, 76, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.

INGALLS — James R. "Jim" Dwyre, 76, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.

He was born Aug. 28, 1937, in Maitland, Mo., to Ronald and Catherine Bird Dwyre.

A Gray County resident since 1964, Mr. Dwyre started Dwyre Grinding Service in 1973 and also worked as the Head Millwright for Ernest Spencer for many years.

On Oct. 5, 1957, he married Joyce Clements in Maryville, Mo. She died Dec. 30, 2002. He also was preceded in death by his parents and three sons, Doug, Dan and Ronald Dwyre.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Dwyre of Ingalls; three sisters, Naomi Morgan of Clarinda, Iowa, and Ruby Davis and Mary Jane Broker, both of Mound City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Cimarron. Burial will be at Cimarron Cemetery.

Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. today at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron. Condolences may be sent at www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, in care of the funeral chapel, Box 446, Cimarron, KS 67835.
