HUGOTON — Shirley K. McCurry, 65, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her home in rural Morton County.

HUGOTON — Shirley K. McCurry, 65, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her home in rural Morton County.

She was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Liberal, to Lawrence and Mildred Kaufman Chapman, and grew up in Liberal.

In 1966, she married Kenny McCurry in Liberal. He also died March 23, 2014.

A former resident of Hugoton, Mrs. McCurry had resided in Morton County for 10 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Hanna of Edmond, Okla.; sisters, Dorothy Monroe, Mary Archuleta, Susan Randall, Lorraine Duran and Barbara Beason; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to The Kempe Foundation for abused children, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
