ROLLA — Kenneth "Kenny" McCurry, 67, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home in rural Morton County.

ROLLA — Kenneth "Kenny" McCurry, 67, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home in rural Morton County.

He was born May 12, 1946, in Canon City, Colo., to Jesse Edward and Rosie Smith McCurry, and grew up in Hugoton.

In 1966, he married Shirley K. Chapman in Liberal. She also died March 23, 2014.

Mr. McCurry worked as a welder for Koch Engineering in Wichita for 13 years. After returning to Rolla, he continued welding.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Hanna of Edmond, Okla.; two brothers, Glen McCurry of Colorado, and Jesse McCurry of Oregon; a sister, Sandra Smith of Liberal; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Memorials are suggested to The Kempe Foundation for abused children, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
