Denise Lopez Gonzalez

ULYSSES — Denise Lopez Gonzalez, 50, of Hooker, Okla., died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her parents' home in Ulysses.She was born March 5, 1963, in Tulia, Texas, to Domingo and Rachael Sanchez Lopez.
A resident of Hooker for 13 years, Mrs. Gonzalez was employed at Hooker Elementary School as a teacher's aide for kindergarten. She also taught ESL in Hooker.¬
She married Alfredo Gonzalez. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Alfredo Gonzalez Jr. of Hooker; her parents, of Ulysses; and four sisters, Carmen Orosco, Grace Chavez and Stephanie Barrios, all of Ulysses, and Amanda Sierra of Johnson City.¬
A memorial service will begin at 6:30 tonight at First Baptist Church in Hooker. Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Ulysses. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Visitation hours are 1 to 4 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to the Alfredo Gonzalez Jr. Education Fund, in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
