Clarence P. Rudell, 86, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home in Oakley.He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Wallace, to Matthew and Mary Pheifer Rudell.
Mr. Rudell was a co-owner of R-U Ready Mix and Oakley Excavating until his retirement in 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On Aug. 17, 1947, he married Edna Elizabeth Uhrich. She died May 8, 1998. He also was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Jilianna Bruggeman, Waunita Quenzer and Ermalina Vernon; and a brother, John Rudell.
On June 18, 1999, he married Ellen Lou Jennings. She survives. Other survivors include two stepsons, Dallas Harman of Salina, and Dustin Harman of Hays; two brothers, Joseph Rudell of Colby, and Francis "Sonny" Rudell of Campus; a sister, Henrietta Homm of Garden City; and seven stepgrandchildren.
Graveside memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date at Oakley Cemetery in Oakley.
