Published 3/21/2013 in ObituariesCIMARRON — Steven Jay "Steve" Proehl, 57, of Cimarron, died Monday, March 18, 2013, in Gray County.
He was born Aug. 14, 1955, in Wichita, to Lester Ernest and Vera Katherine Tietz Proehl. He graduated from Ingalls High School.
A former resident of the Ingalls and Pierceville areas, Mr. Proehl worked for Hilker Hay Company in Cimarron.
On Feb. 14, 1976, he married DeLoris "Dee" Toothaker in Cimarron. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Wulf of Wichita, and DeAnna Schmidt of Garden City; his mother, of Garden City; two brothers, Russell Proehl of Florida, and Allen Proehl of Holcomb; two sisters, Marjorie Frey of Emporia, and Naomi Holloway of Hutchinson; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Larry Proehl.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cimarron First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery.
Visitation hours are noon to 8 p.m. today at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Cimarron. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to Gray County Emergency Medical Services, in care of the funeral home.

I am out of town, but checked the Telegram on my computer and was shocked to see the obituary of your dad..... I am so sorry!!! My heart is hurting for you!!!
