Franklin Goldsby

ULYSSES — Franklin D. "Frank" Goldsby, 72, of Ulysses, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.

He was born July 11, 1940, in Grundy County, Mo., to Ray and Mary Lee Gott Goldsby.

Mr. Goldsby worked for KDOT and Grant County Road Department as a supervisor for more than 38 years. He served in the National Guard for eight years.

On Feb. 21, 1964, he married Sue Craig in Hooker, Okla. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Hunter Goldsby of Berwyn, Neb.; a daughter, Suzette Goldsby-Lewis of Garden City; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a great-grandson; a brother, Edwin Goldsby of Trenton, Mo.; and a sister, Viola May Bland of Prague, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Calvin Dale Goldsby.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Life Church in Ulysses. Burial will follow at Ulysses Cemetery.

Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorials are suggested to New Life Church or The Grant County Foundation, both in care of the funeral home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
