Davis Sommers Carson, 90, of Tulsa, Okla., died March 5, 2013, in Tulsa.

He was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Louisville, Ky., to Ralph Gerald Carson and Katherine Bartholomew Davenport Carson.

Mr. Carson was an attorney. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was a 33rd Degree Mason and was an Olympic swimmer in the Senior Olympics.

He is survived by his children, Sandy Barrington and husband Roger of Grand Lake, Colo., Jana Burnside and husband Joe of Garden City, and Russell Carson and wife Betsy of Tulsa; grandchildren, Laura Wilson and husband Craig, Boone Burnside, Neely Burnside, Blake Burnside, Joseph Carson, and Leah McClain and husband Kevin; great-grandchildren, Finn, Liam, Brooke and Jesse; sister-in-law, Beverly Carson; and brother-in-law, Ed Crittenden. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Sommers Carson; his wife, Katherine Holland Carson; and his siblings, Katherine Crittenden, Kainor Carson and Corinne Blair.

A memorial service began at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Tulsa.
