HUGOTON — William L. "Bill" Coble, 92, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.

HUGOTON — William L. "Bill" Coble, 92, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.

He was born July 15, 1921, in Red River County, Texas, to William Vallard and Etta Coble.

In 1951, he married Bernice Viola Ruzowski in Amarillo. She died April 9, 2011. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; three brothers, L.G. "Doc," Gene and Delbert; and a sister, Laura Mae Coble.

Among other jobs, Mr. Coble was a mechanic at Hedgeco Automotive in Amarillo. He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his sons, James R. Hughes of Meade, Kenneth Watson of Ord, Neb., and Jerry Coble of Midland, Texas; a daughter, Bobbie Jean Brown of Florida; a brother, Richard Coble of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Sybil Alexander of Ft. Worth, Texas; a granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Hugoton. Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Wheatridge Park Care Center of Liberal, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 423 S. Main, Hugoton, KS 67951.
