TRIBUNE — Marjorie Marion "Marge" Peter, 84, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune.

TRIBUNE — Marjorie Marion "Marge" Peter, 84, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune.

She was born March 5, 1929, in Larned, to Conrad Henry and Anna Katherina Leinberger Woelk.

A resident of Greeley County since 1952, Mrs. Peter was a teacher, farm wife and homemaker. She received her probational teaching certificate from Fort Hays State Teachers College in 1947 and taught in the Pawnee Rock area for a short time.

On Dec. 11, 1949, she married Lawrence A. "Mick" Peter in Albert. He survives. Other survivors include four children, Arla Peter, Danny Peter, Mark Peter and Alan Peter, all of Tribune; two siblings, Jean Miller of Tribune, and John Woelk of Rozel; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Juanita Smith, Virginia Smith and Leroy "Jim" Woelk; and two daughters, Linda Kay Peter and Diana Lynn Ramsey.

Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. MT Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Tribune. Burial will be at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune.

Visitation hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune. Condolences may be sent at www.priceandsons.com. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, Greeley County Recreation Foundation or Melvin O. Kuder Senior Citizen Center, all in care of the funeral home.
