James Fraser

ELKHART — James B. Fraser, 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at his home in Elkhart.

He was born Aug. 8, 1953, in Torrance, Calif., to Charles and Margaret Powell Fraser. He earned his GED from Carson High School in Carson, Calif.

An Elkhart resident since 2009, Mr. Fraser had worked as a wastewater treatment operator and then supervisor of the plant for the City of Carson.

On Aug. 21, 1982, he married Bonnie Rhoads in Torrance. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Tessa Fraser of Elkhart, Dena Fraser of Carson, Melissa Fraser of San Pedro, Calif., and Misty Pope of California; his mother, Margaret Gower of Perris, Calif.; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Barbara Fraser.

There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Whistle Stop Park, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
