Singing Valentines

What: The GCHS Modern Show Choir will perform its personal singing valentines.

When: 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

Cost: Each song is $12 for serenades at the high school and $25 for community members.

Senior Sweetheart Dinner

What: Enjoy a lasagna dinner with salad, vegetable, bread and dessert at the Deerfield Recreation Commission Senior Sweetheart Dinner. Singer, musician and songwriter Sandra Bates will provide entertainment.

When: Noon Thursday

Where: Chachi's Place in Deerfield

Cost: $8.

 

Blushing Artiste

What: Come and have a glass of wine and light hors d’oeuvres while creating a painting that you can take home. Must be 21 or older.

When: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday

Cost: $35 for non-members; $30 for GCA members.

GCCC Valentine's Concert

What: The Garden City Community College Department of Music’s 2019 Choral Valentine’s Concert will feature choral and solo pieces from the GCCC Concert Choir, the College Singers, and various student soloists.

Living Room Concert

What: High Plains Public Radion's first Living Room Concert of the year will feature Paul & Lezlee, two-thirds of the harmony-heavy trio En Power & Light.

What: The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second in a series of town hall meetings with southwest Kansas state lawmakers.

Mattress fundraiser

What: A one-day mattress sale to raise money for the Garden City High School band

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: GCHS, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.

 

Mini & Me

What: Come and bond with your child while painting. For ages 5 and older.

When: 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St.

Cost: $30 per pair ($25 for members).

 

Ducks Unlimited Raffle

What: The Ducks Unlimited Chapters of Southwest Kansas is having its 50 Gun Super Raffle. Food and beer will be served. Must be 18 to win a gun.

When: 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Food will be served from noon to 2 p.m., with beer served throughout the event. The gun raffle will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Where: Finney County Exhibition Building, 409 Lake, Garden City.

 

Drop-In Art Saturday

What: Drop in and enjoy multiple art-making stations suitable for the whole family.

When: 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday

What: People of all skill levels and all mediums can work at their own pace on their own projects.

Resolution Run/Walk

What: The third annual Resolution Run/Walk 5K for ages 12 and older

When: Registration at 4:30 p.m. Saturday; race starts at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Lakin Middle School, 1201 W. Kingman Ave., Lakin.

Cost: $12. A meal costing $5 will be provided at the finish line by the Kearny County Wellness Coalition.
