The Garden City Police Department announced Monday that they had located and issued a warrant for a suspect identified as the man who allegedly committed an aggravated burglary and rape in southeast Garden City on Dec. 18.

Officers located the suspect Saturday after a citizen tip helped them identify his vehicle, according to a press release. On Monday, the District Court Judge Ricklin Pierce issued a $900,000 warrant for his arrest.

The suspect, Michael W. Couch, 45, transient, is currently in custody in Sherman County on local charges, according to the release.

He is awaiting transport to the Finney County Jail, where he will be held until his court appearance. He has been charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sodomy, aggravated battery and rape, according to the release.
