Area art fans can meet Lakin artist Judy Scott at a Friday reception that will kick off her month-long pottery and acrylic paintings exhibit at the Main ARTery in Ulysses.

Scott's work will be featured at the Main ARTery, 103 S. Main St., from Dec. 4 to 24. The gallery will hold a reception and meet and greet for Scott from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, according to a press release.

Scott is a longtime artist and teacher and has worked at the Garden City Community College ceramics studio and with artists at the Main ARTery. She said in the release that she hoped to see her friends, new and old, at the meet and greet.

"After a long career teaching a wide variety of media, and trying to help innumerous personalities find a road to their own expression, I am now stretching my own skills as an artist, and trying to put truth to 'the proof is in the pudding,'" Scott said in the release. "Truly, I am just enjoying having time to play."
