The Garden City Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that Janene Radke will serve as the organization's new vice president starting Jan. 2.
A Liberal native, Radke earned her bachelor's in Women's Studies from Wichita State University in 1994 and moved to Garden City with her family in 1997, according to a press release. She is a board member and coach for Leadership Garden City's Every Voice program and is involved at St. Dominic Church. She has served as the director of Family Crisis Services since 2012.
“I am excited for this next journey in my life and grateful for the opportunity to work with the Chamber and serve the amazing business community here in Garden City,” Radke said in the release.
Radke swill step into the role following former vice president Rick Thomeczek's departure in October after three years of appreciated service, said chamber President Myca Bunch. Radke will oversee all chamber events and work with its more than 400 members, according to the release.
"We're excited to have her join our team. She brings a wealth of experience in business-related matters as well as, and probably most importantly, in community. She's well known through this community and she's just going to be a tremendous asset to the Chamber," Bunch said. "I can't wait to have her get here in January and get the ball rolling."
