We are so fortunate to have Steve Kelly as a candidate for this district. He has our full and enthusiastic support. He wouldn’t admit it, but he is one of the main reasons we have a full-care hospital in Newton named one of the top rural hospitals in the nation. Also, the many partnerships he helped facilitate with Health Ministries, Prairie View, the new Y and others, are a testament to his wisdom, foresight and love for this community.

The Newton Chamber of Commerce named him Citizen of the Year in 2012; and at the State level, he received the Charles S. Billings Award from the Kansas Hospital Association — the highest honor bestowed by that organization. In awarding him, KHA noted: “Kelly was the president and CEO of Newton Medical Center from 2000 to 2016 through an unprecedented period of growth and expansion. Under his leadership, there were six building additions; gross revenue grew from $50 million to more than $200 million annually. He successfully recruited physicians; added 11 primary care and specialty clinics, added inpatient rehabilitation, cardiac catheterizations, geriatric psychiatry, case management services, and negotiated a purchase of majority ownership in a local surgery center—and these represent only a portion of his achievements.

Steve Kelly is smart, gracious, genuine and likeable; and he is who we need now to represent us in Topeka. Please join us in voting for Steve Kelly for the Kansas House of Representatives in November!
