A Garden City student was one of nine new Kansas State University graduates to receive awards from the university’s College of Education in May.

Katelyn Slavik of Garden City was awarded the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award for outstanding leadership and scholarship. Slavik was a member of the Student Mobilization Leadership Team, a participant and leader in the team’s summer project, Kaleo, a KSU resident assistant and a recipient of a grant and scholarships.

Four other KSU students received the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award, two received the Outstanding Future Teacher Award and two earned the Kansas State Department of Education Teacher of Promise Award.
