Commerce Bank announced that the proceeds of the Beef Empire Days Chuckwagon Breakfast will go to the Women of Purpose.
Representatives of the Women of Purpose Executive Committee received a $3,000 check from Commerce Bank President Richard Harp and Vice President Kirk Olomon on June 11 at the Western Kansas Community Foundation.
Commerce Bank donated all the net proceeds from the popular event which was held on June 9 in Stevens Park.
The Commerce Bank Chuckwagons Breakfast is an all-you-can-eat breakfast that offers pancakes and sausages at $3 per person. According to Commerce Bank, about 900 people were fed at this year's event, one of the highest turnouts in its 19 year-history.
The Women of Purpose Fund was established within the WKCF in 2009. The fund was created by area women in support of local programs focused specifically on women’s causes. The fund has grown to more than $150,000 and has supported 20 local agencies with grants totaling more than $50,000.
